I am foremost an artist, working in printmaking, drawing, mixed media and book arts from my studio in Minneapolis, MN. I studied studio art at Sonoma State University and have an MFA in printmaking from the Academy of Art University. I then worked in marketing and advertising as a graphic designer and illustrator for 18 years. A brief illness forced a departure from the work for a year in 2001 and in that reflective time I decided to turn to teaching. I taught drawing at community art centers for a few years, which overlapped with full-time teaching graphic design and illustration at Dakota County Technical College until 2016. I took an early retirement in order to focus fully on my fine art practice. I have maintained a regular studio routine since college and am now quite happy that it is the main focus of my time.
